G418 Sulfate or G-418 Sulfate, an aminoglycoside antibiotic, is related to gentamicin. G418 is toxic to both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. It is used primarily for the selection of eukaryotic expression vectors bearing the related resistance genes.
