Timentin is a powerful beta-Lactamase inhibitor that inhibits peptidoglycan cross-linking during cell wall synthesis. It is especially effective against Gram-negative bacteria like Agrobacterium. Penicillin-like Timentin is a common supplement in plant regeneration media.
Plant Tissue Culture Grade Timentin is a 15:1 mixture of Ticarcillin and Clavulanic acid. Sterile solutions of Timentin are conveniently available for purchase at 50 mg/mL and 100 mg/mL concentrations.
