Kinetin

Product Description

Kinetin, or 6-Furfuryl-aminopurine, is a cytokinin growth regulator of plants. When used in plant tissue culture media, it can induce callus formation and tissue regeneration from callus. Kinetin is popular additive alongside auxins to media such as Murashige and Skoog. Recent research shows that Kinetin may also mediate oxidative stress in mammalian cell systems.

Kinetin is readily soluble in water, or may be purchased 1 mg/mL sterile solution. This concentration is appropriate for direct use in plant tissue culture. Our high quality Murashige Modified Multiplication Medium with Kinetin is guaranteed to improve plant growth and regeneration. The combination of Kinetin and 6-BAP is especially effective at preventing the loss of clorophyll in plants.
