Product Description
This is a volatile chemical compound related to acetophenone and is a natural product that can be found in Posidonia oceanica. The compound is also produced by the male leaf-footed bug and used in its communication system. This substance is involved in plant-pathogen recognition. In vitro studies show that acetosyringone increases mycorrhizae formation in the fungus Glomus intraradices. Total synthesis of acetosyringone has been performed by Crawford et al in 1956.
