Product Description
Glycine max agglutinin (SBA) is isolated from soybean seeds and purified by affinity chromatography. SBA is a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 120,000 Da and consists of four subunits of identical size. This lectin has an isoelectric point between pH 5.8 and pH 6.0. It has a carbohydrate specificity of ?GalNAc greater than ?GalNAc, with an eluting sugar of N-acetylgalactosamine.
SBA has specificity for blood groups A1, A2, and B, and interacts better with neuramidase-treated cells than untreated cells. This lectin has selective affinity for lymphocytes and human CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells. Immobilized conjugates of SBA are important tools for removing T-cells in bone marrow transplants.
This product comes in a lyophilized form and is stable for more than three years when stored below -20ºC. Calcium and manganese ions are required for binding.
