Product Description
Hemagglutinin isolectin (MAL II) is isolated from Amur seeds, Maackia amurensis, and is a glycoprotein. This lectin has a molecular weight of 130,000 Da and is a dimer that consists of two subunits. MAL II has an isoelectric point of pH 4.7 and a carbohydrate specificity for Neu5AC?2,3Gal?1,4GlcNA.
MAL II has non-specific blood group specificity and therefore agglutinates all types of human erythrocytes. It has a high affinity for Ser/Thr-linked oligosaccharides containing sialic acid residues linked ?2,3 to galactosyl residues. MAL II can also bind unsialylated structures, such as glycans containing SO4-3-Gal?1-3GalNAc.
This product comes in lyophilized form and is stored at -20ºC. No metal ions required for binding.
