Nonidet P-40 is a nonionic surfactant useful in isolating and purifying membrane proteins. Nonidet P-40 is a non-ionic nondenaturing detergent used for solubilizing proteins. Nonidet P-40 can be used as a substitute for octylphenoxypolyethoxyethanol.
